Apathy in a hospital waiting room
I was in a hospital waiting room yesterday while a family member was getting some tests done. and I was simply reading an waiting and there were some various other people in the room, two such people (I assume were mother and daughter) were there as well, and the tv was on and for once they weren't playing soap operas(thats another rant entirely.) And the news came on and one of the headlines involved a school faculty member of a highschool engaging in sexual activities with a student. and the one lady made a comment of it being terrible. the other responded asking "That still bothers you?" the mother replied "of course it does, doesn't it bother you?" her daughter responded; "not anymore" her mom said "it should still!" that was the gist of their conversation. That summed up a huge portion of how people are today. They don't care what happens, now I'm not saying everyone is like that, but many are. How much of a difference would their lives be in Christ was a part of them? and I'm not saying the apathetic are just people who don't know the Lord, but Christians are too! Apathy is a dangerous step towards slacking off in our sharing the Lord with others.

Cats
I was recently doing laundry (I do that farely often) and my fiances aunt's cat happened to be down in the basement with me. So I decided I would do the nice thing and pet said cat. now to backtrack, this cat does not like me, probably never has, so I thought, maybe if I pet the cat it will start to be nice, maybe not such a good idea but I did it...then I washed out the deep cuts in my hand from the cat, now the cat is a cute as can be. but its not a friendly one. and somehow my mind made the jump of how sin can be that way. just like the cat sin can appear to be nice and cuddly, and we decide, even though we know its not a good idea to try petting it. then it turns on us and cuts and hurts us deeply. on a minor note I've been reading through the book Vintage Jesus, by Marc Driscoll and Gerry Breshears. and I have to say its a great book. Marc Driscoll approaches Christ and the discussions involving his humanity, and many other thoughts. I say go read it now. haha
