You know I never realized how beautiful the book of song of solomon was until after being married, as a single unmarried man it seemed like too much to read, Last week when I was driving down to my parents house to help repair their roof. And I knowI was going to be alone in the car for some time, so I had a sermon seriess by Mark Driscoll on my mac, so I put them on my ipod, I had been saving it to listen to until after I was married and I figured this might as well be the best time to listen to them, so I did.
Honestly I've learned so much about the book of Song of Solomon this week week (due to the fact I went crazy listening to the sermon series, pretty much listened to it on every break I took)
The book is a beautiful, It discusses marital enjoyment in such beautiful terminology.
In one of the sermons Mark Driscoll talked about"Marital Sabbaths" which at first sounded a bit odd to me. but as I listened to it and began to understand what he meant I was very intrigued by the idea. He brought up the idea of always having these marital sabbaths where you and your spouse take some time along to just relax and catch up and get to know each other more. I love this idea! Since my wife and I have gotten married she's been working overtime, I've been working a full work week. its crazy, and it feels like we don't get to see each other as much as we did before we got married, so tonight is a date night for us :)
